English: The Bronze Statue of Mao Zedong is located at the Mao Zedong Square, in Shaoshan, Hunan, China. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mao Zedong's birth on December 20, 1993, sculptors Liu Kaiqu and Cheng Yunxian collaboratively designed this bronze statue, which was manufactured by the Nanjing Chenguang Machinery Factory. The bronze figure stands 6-metre (20 ft) tall, and with its 4.1-metre (13 ft) base, the total height reaches 10.1-metre (33 ft), symbolizing China's National Day on October 1. The sculpture depicts Mao Zedong in a Zhongshan suit, holding a manuscript, capturing his image from the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China. The base is inscribed with the calligraphy "Comrade Mao Zedong, 24 November 1992" by Jiang Zemin. Note: The calligraphic inscription "Comrade Mao Zedong, 24 November 1992" by Jiang Zemin is not in the public domain.
